SYS Technology Debuts High Performance Cold-Fusion 550 System

June 3, 1999 - In the race to build faster computers at lower prices, SYS Technology, Inc., has taken the lead with its new Sys Cold-Fusion 550 System. This high performance PC is powered by a super cooled 450MHz AMD-K6 III running at 550MHz processor that outperforms the Pentium® III. This system was designed for gamers, power users, desktop publishers and those who will appreciate the accelerated processor.

Performance on the system is maximized by a 256K full speed L2 cache on the CPU and 512K L3 cache on the motherboard, along with 3DNow!™ technology and the Super7 platform with high-speed 100MHz processor bus that supports an accelerated graphic port (AGP).

As a robust multimedia machine, this unit reproduces rich sounds from twin Altec Lansing® ACS-44 speakers complete with subwoofer, a Diamond Monster MX300 sound card, an awe inspiring Voodoo3 3000 from 3Dfx with 16MB SGRAM that handles both 2D and 3D graphics with ease. All this along with a 56K V.90 WinModem with voice for Internet access. The Sys Cold-Fusion 550 ships as a complete system. The computer itself is housed in a KryoTech case with a 300W power supply and seven drive bays. Combining the high powered AMD-K6 III running at 550MHz with 128MB installed SDRAM (1024MB max), a 22G 7200rpm hard drive from IBM®, a state-of-the-art Kenwood 52X Multibeam CD-ROM and the Windows® 98 operating system, this system flies. And to complete this high-performance system is a 19" (18.0" viewable) monitor.

Note: The KryoTech cooling system is built into the case of the computer keeping the processor chilled to -40C for a 33% boost in usable speed.
