SYS Technology Announces the World's Fastest x86 PC—Again:
The Sys Cold-Fusion 1400—1400MHz (1.4GHz)*

COMPUTEX Taipei 2000, Taipei, Taiwan R.O.C. (June 5, 2000) - SYS Technology today announced the latest and fastest of its renowned Cold-Fusion PCs, the SYS Cold-Fusion 1400. The new system combines AMD's highly anticipated Athlon processor with full-speed, on-chip L2 cache, KryoTech's world-renowned vapor phase refrigeration technology, and Sys' knack for finding the last ounce of system performance, to produce the world's fastest, commercially-available, x86 PC. "Thermally accelerated" to 1400MHz (1.4GHz), the system provides 3D content creators, CAD users, financial analysts, ultra-serious gamers, and tens of thousands of processor-bottlenecked system users the highest level of performance available in the marketplace today.

The SYS Cold-Fusion 1400 is one of the first computers to utilize the new, enhanced Athlon processor from AMD (formerly code-named "Thunderbird"), and the only one available from a nationally recognized and respected system integrator to be teamed with KryoTech's vapor phase cooling sub-system. The cooling sub-system, built into the base of the system unit, boosts performance by cooling the Athlon processor to -40 degrees Celsius (-40ºC). In its base configuration, the SYS Cold-Fusion 1400 includes 256MB of high-speed PC133 SDRAM, dual IBM 30GB, 7200 rpm ATA/100 hard drives, Promise FastTrak100 IDE RAID controller, Hercules 3D Prophet II GTS 32MB video card, Pioneer 16X DVD-ROM drive, gorgeous 18" (18.1" viewable) LCD monitor, Aureal Vortex2 SuperQuad PCI sound card (OEM), Altec Lansing ACS55 5-piece speaker system, 3Com 10/100 PCI NIC, and Windows 98 Second Edition. System pricing will be announced in late July. Available options include alternate video cards, SCSI hard drives and controllers, additional system memory, and Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 2000 Professional. SYS Cold-Fusion Workstation configurations will be announced shortly. Shipments of all models will begin in August.

Starting in June, Sys will also be offering AMD Duron-based TaskMaster systems and Athlon (Thunderbird)-based SYS Performance systems and SYS PowerHouse Workstations. Base prices will be announced shortly.

The SYS Cold-Fusion 1400 is backed by a limited six year warranty on memory, five years on labor, and three years on parts (excluding KryoTech-supplied components). There is a one year limited warranty for parts and labor on the KryoTech-supplied components (CPU, chassis, power supply, motherboard and cooling sub-system). Also included is one year of unlimited 24-hour/7-day, toll-free telephone technical support and first year on-site service (USA, 50-states). Extended warranties are available. Restrictions apply.
