3D Magazine's June 2000 issue, the SYS Cold-Fusion
1000 workstation fared rather well for "old"
technology—turning in the best scores for NewTek's
LightWave and placing no worse than second or third
fastest among the six systems tested (including a "native"
1GHz Athlon). The only system that typically fared better
was priced at $10,625 and used the just-released Intense
3D Wildcat 4210 video card—a card soon to be available
from Sys. Sorry, but the publication (formerly
3D
Design Magazine) does not provide online versions
